Hanamaki International Exchange Association was established 13 years ago on January 6, 1989. Miyazawa Kenji, pioneer of Hanamaki City once said, "individual happiness does not exist unless world happiness exists." This spirit is spread throughout Hanamaki City.

Hanamaki International Exchange Association was established to promote international consciousness. The Hanamaki Citizens' Charter says, "one's world view is initiated when loving the people and home country. The association was built for the citizens to expand their awareness on internationalism, hence nurturing their knowledge to become contributors to society.

The association is taking on greater roles, as internationalism becomes prominent even in local areas of Japan. Support to promote various multi-cultural activities are provided by several international association.

We hope to contribute to world peace and welfare through our activities.
